The Cymbidium is a species of orchid that grows in a large array of sizes. It thrives in fresh to cooler climates and is epiphyte or lithophyte. It blooms in spring.

The Dendrobium name originates from the Greek “Dendron”= trunk, tree and “Bios” = life. In other words, it means “lives upon the trunks of the trees”, referring to its epiphyte nature.
